Bhupi, 200-hour RYT with Yoga Alliance, certified in Yin Yoga, Pre-Post Natal Yoga, Restorative Yoga, registered dental hygienist. Owner and creative director of Satula Yoga Studio.
At Satula Yoga, I teach...
Hatha, Hatha Flow, Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Yin and Flow, Gentle Yoga, Yoga in the Park
I also practise...
Fitness class and Bootcamp Yoga (ok not as much as I would love to!!), meditation, pranayama (breathing technique)
If I wasn't teaching yoga...
...I'd be organising retreats to exotic places or interior designing-of course design a special room to practise meditation and yoga!
Favourite pose..
Supta Badakonasana...Reclining Bound Angle Pose with bolster under spine, eye pillow, sandbag on my feet...mmmmm...that is bliss :)
Favourite prop...
bolster-there are so many ways we can use it!
What inspires me..
Letting go...opening up our hearts. Seeing and feeling students letting go, relaxing and calm after a class.
I love...
Letting go!
I fear...
Letting go... :)
Yoga is my full time passion...
Yes, it is...and my 'home', my heart center.
Favourite city (other than Ottawa!)...
Granada, Spain
I believe...
In healing, letting go of old patterns and creating your support system. Yoga, alternative and holistic therapies are great tools to bring healing in one's body, mind and spirit.
My words of encouragement to you-on and off the mat...
Find your peace in chaos. Cultivate and nourish balance in your life. 
Just when you think you can no longer do it, know that the 'shift' is just around the corner.

What inspires me..
The joy of making students discover the intimate connection between the body and the mind.
I love...
Breaking the habits of the body and make students realise that their bodies can awaken even if they have spent the last 20 years working behind the computer.
I fear...
...no more...
Yoga is my full time passion...
...because I will hopefully live longer and in better health. For me, yoga is not just a workout-it's about working on yourself.

Satula Turns 1! Open House Invitation...Friday, Sept.28th, 2012..4:00pm-8:00pm


Open House Invitation

Satula Yoga turns 1 in September! It has been a wonderful journey to here and thank you for the love and support that you have given to the studio, the instructors and myself. 

To celebrate you and your friends are invited to join us for:

    Open House on Friday, September 28th, 2012 from 4:00pm-8:00pm!


  • We will provide some refreshments and sweets!
  • We will draw for one 5 Class Pass, one Halfmoon Deluxe Yoga Mat and one 45 minute gift certificate from Absolute Massage Therapy!
  • Drop in and enjoy Free Classes on Saturday, September 29th: Yin Yoga at 9:30am and Hatha Flow at 10:45am. First-come-first-served please.

Bootcamp Yoga is Back! and Abs Workshop

Bootcamp Yoga and Abs Workshop


Chantal's Fierce Bootcamp Yoga!

Be prepared to sweat!! Is the least we can say about this program. It’s the perfect balance between strength training, interval training, circuit training,cardio, core and flexibility . This military inspired six week program is specifically designed to gain strength, get lean and have fun! 


Chantal has been in the fitness industry for a long time. She started off playing every sport ever invented then specialized in professional rugby until she got injured. Her doctor recommended yoga to help with the healing process. She received amazing recovery results and now dedicates her life to her practice, teaching yoga and boot camps. 

Dates: 2xWeek, 6 weeks. Tuesdays and Thursdays.  8:30pm-9:30pm                                                            Starts Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012. 
Rate: $150+HST 

Abs Workshop with Chantal
Details coming soon!
Dates: 1xWeek, 6 weeks. Sundays.  1:00pm-2:00pm
Starts Sunday, Sept.30, 2012. 
No class on Long Weekend Sunday, October 7, 2012 
Rate: $70+HST    Special Rate if also signing up Bootcamp Yoga: $60+HST
